A short introduction

About

I'm Jie Xiang, an independent developer in Shanghai. I make small, useful things on the internet and document what I learn along the way.

What I'm doing now

My current project is Tiny Web Lab: one useful, strange, or playful website at a time. Each release has to do something a screenshot or a paragraph cannot do on its own.

Why

I want to make a living from products I own. The practical dream is to be able to work from different places, travel, and keep building without tying the work to one city.

That is a direction, not a success story. I'm still figuring out which products people return to and are willing to pay for.

The path here

Before Tiny Web Lab, I shipped many small apps and built tools around the problems I kept encountering. Thepublic catalogrecords my iOS and Mac releases, with live links where they are still available. I also publishedapple-presubmit-auditandclaude-agent-ledgeras open source.

The older articles on this site cover reliability engineering, App Store reviews, and AI-agent tooling. I keep them as dated records of real work. They are part of the path here, not a menu of services.
